Motorised Lighthouse gives much less than similar sets
Poor value
#48 of 51 Ideas sets with 1,000+ pieces
Much of the Lighthouse’s $299.99 price goes into motorized parts rather than bricks, so it scores poorly on value: about 60 pieces per $10 against a typical 99 for a big Ideas set, and about 25% less plastic per dollar. It costs roughly 50% more than its pieces and plastic would usually sell for, but builders rate it 4.5 of 5, so it makes sense if you want the working lighthouse.
Motorized: motors and hubs cost a lot but add little plastic, so these measures undervalue it.
